Uttoxeter Household Waste Recycling Site – an update

In January of this year the landowner, East Staffordshire Borough Council, gave the operator, Staffordshire County Council, six months’ notice to leave the site in Pennycroft Lane.

The County Council has committed to spending up to £1 million to provide a new facility on a brownfield site off Dove Way within 18 months.

However, following recent talks with East Staffordshire Borough Council, the position has changed: now Pennycroft Lane will remain open until September and both councils will use the time to work together to explore options for a temporary solution until the new site opens.
