Abbots Bromley news feed now available

Published 15 August 2006

An August 2006 update to the welcome page on the Abbots Bromley village web site has seen the addition of two new features.

Firstly, the local news items, previously not very obvious on these pages, have now been brought onto the front page. The five most recently updated news items are summarised on the right of the screen with links to the full text of each of the news items.

Secondly, an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed of the news items is now available allowing those who use feed readers to consolidate local news from Abbots Bromley into their daily reading. The icon on the top of the news panel provides the link required for your reader. RSS is an increasingly popular way of keeping track of changes across many different web sites without having to keep visiting them. There are many free RSS readers that can be downloaded and used to organise multiple feeds. Also, the new version 7 of Microsoft Explorer will include an RSS reading capability.
