Have your say on Ward Boundaries for East Staffordshire Borough Council – closes 11th January 2021

Published 1 December 2020

We have been advised that a further consultation is taking place, with regards to Ward Boundaries.

The Local Government Boundary Commission have provided the following:

An additional phase of public consultation in our review of East Staffordshire Borough Council’s electoral arrangements.

Our consultation will close on 11 January 2021.

Our consultation focuses on new proposals for council ward boundaries in:

  • Abbey
  • Bagots & Needwood
  • Stramshall & Weaver

We are not seeking further comment in respect of any other part of the borough.

We previously held a public consultation on our draft recommendations for new ward boundaries across East Staffordshire. We listened to the views put to us during the consultation and propose to make changes to the plans in the areas above to reflect the local evidence received.

Due to the significance of the proposed changes made to the above areas, we are opening an extra phase of consultation, for this area only, to see what you think of the new recommendations.

We are satisfied that we have received sufficient evidence to finalise our proposals for new electoral wards for the rest of the borough.

Further information in relation to these changes can be found by viewing our letter to the Chief Executive of East Staffordshire Borough Council, found below.

This period of consultation starts today, 01 December 2020, and closes on 11 January 2021. During this period, we welcome comments and supporting evidence on our further draft recommendations for the following areas:

The Local Government Boundary Commission will publish the final recommendations for the whole borough in March 2021.
