Vacancy for Parish Clerk for Abbots Bromley

VACANCY: PART TIME CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
Abbots Bromley Parish Council is made up of seven councillors with two current vacancies.
Parish Council meetings are held at Abbots Bromley Village Hall on the last Wednesday of
each month at 7.00pm.
The Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer undertakes day-to-day administration to ensure the
smooth running of the Parish Council. S/he is also the first point of contact for residents, and
• Website management
• Meeting management (preparing agendas, recording minutes, attending monthly Parish
Council plus occasional additional meetings)
• Financial records management (Abbots Bromley’s annual precept is £27,000)
• Annual audit preparation in line with the government’s Financial Regulations
Applicants work from home for approximately 12 hours per week@£11.50 per hour (Payscale
SCP 11) plus pension. Meetings will be held in person at Abbots Bromley Village Hall.
The ideal candidate
Organised; computer literate (able to use Word, Excel and Outlook); excellent interpersonal
skills; ability to prepare financial accounts; comfortable with multi-tasking.
The successful candidate will be provided with a laptop/printer. S/he will be offered full
training (starting with ILCA up to CiLCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration
https://www.slcc.co.uk/qualifications/) and will be encouraged to join the Society of Local
Council Clerks https://www.slcc.co.uk/).

The Parish Council has published the Annual Report for 2021/22. The report gives details of the Council’s activities over the past twelve months as well as reports from village organisations and our County Councillor. The report will also be presented at the Parish Assembly on Wednesday, 18th May at the Village Hall.
