Connect Fibre are holding a meeting in Abbots Bromley Monday 19th August 2024!
Information-
Open Reach and Connect Fibre are different companies delivering different objectives.
Open reach have been involved with the village since early 2023 where they requested villagers to pledge to sign up to full fibre, Abbots Bromley received enough pledges for Government to give Open reach the funding to provide these households with the infrastructure for full fibre.
Open reach work within the exchange and will use current infrastructure where possible, although they have not yet provided detailed plans.
Connect Fibre have been awarded a contract from the Government to also provide Full fibre but there is no requirement to pledge, the government has identified Houses and Businesses in Rural areas that will not have the required infrastructure to future proof them once historic methods are no longer used.
The Government has provided addresses for these works, there is no pledge or obligation for the households. Connect Fibre advise that existing infrastructure will be used where possible, however we have not had any plans and they have previously consulted on poles.
