It is imperative that public opinion is taken into account when producing a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP).

Since November 2018 the Abbots Bromley NDPGroup have invited the public to attend the first programmed group meeting of the month.

These meetings have proved popular, allowing the group to include the public in discussions on a specific topic relevant to the production of the Parish NDP.

If you are unable to attend these meetings, please submit your written views/opinions to the NDPG by dropping off at ‘Top Shop’ (Cash Stores) or The NDPG Secretary, Callander House, Bagot Street, AB.

Notice of these meetings is currently available on the Abbots Bromley.com website; social media; notice-boards throughout the village; NDP minutes; Parish News; Bromley Bulletin (as available).

As previously notified The Neighbourhood Development Plan Group Chair stood down from the group following the Parish Assembly meeting in May.

Much of the Assembly meeting was dominated by residents declaring their dissatisfaction regarding the amount of consultation and effectiveness of the engagement process.

As part of helping to understand the work carried out on consultation the Statement of Community Involvement document has been added to the Neighbourhood Plan website. You can find it under the “Document Library” drop down tab or link directly to the document: Statement of Community Involvement (May 2018) (1.8 Mb).

Hopefully the information proves useful to both the community and any future Neighbourhood Plan Group.

If you live in Abbots Bromley Parish and are passionate about how it can both be protected and enhanced for the future then we need to hear from you. It’s an exciting time for the plan as we are currently working on the first draft to get ready for consultation so you can have a real influence on this vital step.

If you wish to be considered then please e-mail (address above) by 5pm Monday 29th January 2018. It would be helpful if you could provide a short summary of your background and what aspects of the NDP you are most interested in.

Given the stage that we have reached in terms of the drafting of the plan we would particularly like to hear from anyone with experience/knowledge/access to computer publishing packages and knowhow!

Once expressions of interests have been received by the deadline they will be notified to the Parish Council for consideration at the 31st January meeting.

The Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) Group will be producing a news bulletin and conducting a Local Housing Needs Survey.

These will be posted out to all households in August/September. In addition, survey forms will be available on the website and from businesses within the village (see news bulletin for full details).

Some new displays to provide information about our recent work will be available shortly so please keep a look out for them. These will be in the Village Hall, Church House and display cabinets next to the Butter Cross.

The NDP group will have a stall on Horn Dance Day (Monday 12th September 2016) so please pop along to meet us, see some new displays, ask any questions about the plan and let us have your views.
