Krizevac Project is an Abbots Bromley/Rugeley based charity. We seek an experienced, cheerful driver to join our friendly team to undertake UK wide collections. Must be an expert trailer driver with full clean licence and capable of lifting large quantities of bicycles. You’ll also help load containers for our projects in Africa and undertake general handyman and gardening duties.

37 hours per week. 3 month contract. £7.85 per hour.
Because of our vehicle insurance, candidates must be aged over 25 years.

Converters are being stolen from underneath vehicles overnight due to their current high scrap metal value. The majority of vehicles targeted are larger vehicles, such as vans and 4x4s possibly due to them having higher ground clearance & ease of access. A tell-tale sign of a stolen converter is a louder than usual exhaust noise.

Please warn your neighbours and advise them to store vehicles in a secure garage where possible. If anybody can offer any information please contact the police on 101 or crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

The “20 is plenty” scheme is operating at key points around Staffordshire to help motorists remember their obligation to drive at safe speeds for the conditions at the time. When children are on the move, this may be considerably slower than the posted speed limit.

Signs are coming to Abbots Bromley and new sign posts for this scheme are already in place on the pavement near to the Bagots and another by Ruchi. At the other end of the village signs will go on an existing post at the zebra crossing and a new post outside Ivy House. In recognition of the conservation area, Highways have provided black posts rather than the silver coloured ones as these are less considered less intrusive. The posts will not be a permanent feature and will be removed when the scheme has come to an end.

The response from the Department of Local Communities and Government requires that any application for such a development would require a full environmental impact assessment. In making this decision, the proximity of the heronry at Goat’s Lodge was a contributory factor.

This decision is considered good news by those who consider the site unsuitable for a wind farm. This is because it increases the level of scrutiny of any application and helps in ensuring that all environmental matters are fully addressed.

The first proposals for wind farm development on the site were discussed as long ago as 2001 and a series of potential developers have been involved in the ensuing period. An application for nine turbines was refused by the local planning authority earlier in 2011.
